Description: 
Our client, a non profit organization located midtown east is seeking a temporary to permanent Program and Event Specialist for their growing Membership Department. This is a Hybrid role mostly remote except for events 1-3 times a month. You would work a 37.5 hour work week between the hours of 8a-6p. Must be flexible for the evening events.

Hourly pay is $30-$34 per hour and annual salary between 55-62K

Primary Purpose of Position:

This position is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of membership programs and events under the direction of the Membership Associate Directors. As needed, the Membership Programs & Events Specialist will support planning efforts for FAE and MSF education activities as appropriate and available.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Coordinate planning details including site selection/contracting, venue management, F&B, AV, speaker management, sponsor recognition and fulfillment, registration, on-site logistics and other responsibilities as required for all Society membership non-CPE events, including, but not limited to:
o Monthly Membership Receptions & Networking events
o Monthly Membership Lunches/Focus Groups
o MSF Fundraising events (Gala, Golf Tournament, etc.)
o Lobby Day
o Annual Meeting/Gala
o Excellence in Financial Journalism Awards ceremony
o Leadership Conference
o Student recruitment and engagement events
o NextGen recruitment and engagement events
o Events targeted to specific segments of membership (e.g. Educators, Women, etc.)
o Holiday Party
o New CPA Ceremony
• When additional support is needed due to scheduling conflicts, provide back-up planning and on-site support to the FAE Education Manager for FAE Conferences and to the MSF Program Manager for COAP site management.
• With oversight from the appropriate Associate Director, manage the following membership programs:
o Mentor Match
o Leadership Institute
o Emerging Leaders Awards
• Utilize project management software to track and monitor department project progress.
• Other duties as assigned by the Membership Associate Directors.

Qualifications
The items below are representative of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience required or preferred. The Membership Programs & Event Specialist is expected to coordinate membership programs and events, under the supervision of the Membership Associate Directors. This position requires the ability to effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment.

Knowledge & Skills
• Requires a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of three years’ relevant meeting and/or event management experience.
• Requires strong project, time management and communication skills.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills, determine priorities and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with database management software i.e. Aptify, AM.net, iMis, NetSuite, etc.
• Experience with project management software i.e. BaseCamp, Asana, Monday.com, etc.
• Experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to prioritize and follow through effectively.
