Details: - Contract: Until December 2025 with the option to extendn or convert to Perm
- Hours: Monday-Friday, must be flexible between 7am-8:30pm. occasional weekends
- Rate: $66/hour-$86/hour depending on experience
- Applies knowledge of basic drug regimens and related disease states for which they are used. Applies knowledge of all components of active investigational protocols as needed.
- Reviews and prioritizes physician’s orders to assure conformity to hospital and departmental policies and procedures and research protocols treatment; follows departmental guideline on restricted drugs, informing the physician of the guideline and ensuring compliance.
- Screens new medication orders and notifies physicians and nurses of possible drug interactions and adverse reactions, when necessary.
- Compounds extemporaneous products, small volume parenterals including IV piggybacks and syringes, large volume parenterals, conventional and investigational drugs, and special sterile products according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Prepares drugs, assuring correct medication, dosage and number of units dispensed.
Requirements: - PharmD (or equivalent) required.
- A valid NJ State Pharmacist license required.
- Prior hospital and oncology pharmacy experience (preferred)
- IV compounding experience with sterile preparations (preferred)
- Epic software system experience (preferred)
